Allereerst alle bezoekers een goed tweeduizend en sieben toegewenst, en de beste wensen natuurlijk!


Maar to the point, het betreft hier immers een dienstmededeling...

Zoals degenen van jullie die vandaag aan het werk waren misschien al gemerkt hebben werk ik niet meer bij dah Postbank. Dit schijnt volgens Pieter (The Builder) Bouwer te danken te zijn aan mijn boven het afdelingsgemiddelde liggende frequentie van te laat komen (Waha). Zeg maar iets van vijftig keer de laatste maanden . Dit is dan weer te wijten aan "mijn motivatie", dan wel het ontbreken ervan .
Ik heb sinds ik dit schooljaar niet meer studeer praktisch full-time op e-mail gewerkt. In die tijd ben ik er opnieuw achter gekomen wat ik altijd al dacht. Ik ben niet geschikt voor kantoorwerk. De hele werkdag op een bureaustoel hangen met je reet onderwijl op een toetsenbord rammende is nooit een streven van mij geweest.

Hiermee wil ik jullie natuurlijk niet afvallen. Ik heb het zelf lang genoeg (part-time) met het grootste plezier gedaan. Ik ben ook nog steeds van mening dat het een ideaal bij-baantje is! (Dus nieuwe collega's; veel plezier! Maar dames let wel op Merlijn en z'n camera-telefoon )

De laatste tijd begint het echter te kriebelen. De laatste drie jaar eigenlijk al. In principe had ik al jaren geleden bij de politie willen solliciteren. Hierbij werd ik echter belemmerd door mijn ogen. Zoals jullie wel weten droeg ik tot voor kort een bril. Na m'n refractieve behandelingen van nu bijna twee maanden geleden kom ik eindelijk weer in aanmerking. Daar ben ik verschrikkelijk blij me, er zijn namelijk slechts weinig dingen die ik liever wil!

Hierdoor was ik niet meer zo gemotiveerd om te e-mailen. Vandaag is een en ander in een stroomversnelling gekomen. Hierdoor is het voor mij niet mogelijk gebleken om normaal van de afdeling en mijn collega's afscheid te nemen. Dit vind ik erg vervelend, dat mag duidelijk zijn! Daarom zou ik jullie graag via deze weg laten weten dat ik het met elk en ieder van jullie erg gezellig heb gedurende de anderhalf jaar die ik bij de Postbank heb doorgebracht. Alleen al vanwege alle nieuwe kennissen en vrienden die ik via deze baan heb opgedaan, ik weet dan ook nu al dat ik er nooit spijt van zal krijgen gewerkt te hebben op E-mail.

En dat is een fijn gevoel, geloof me!!


Het was een zwaar relaxte ervaring deze 18 maanden. Maar nu ga ik weer iets anders doen! Ik voel me nog steeds verbonden met jullie (mijn afdelingsgenoten ), ook al ben ik dan misschien geen collega meer van jullie.

Nogmaals ik vind het jammer niet op de afdeling een normaal afscheid van iemand heb kunnen nemen van iedereen.

Om iedereen toch een beetje een idee te geven wat er speelt zou ik willen vragen aan de forum gebruikers of ze de non-forumers zouden willen verwijzen naar mijn blog: road2rookie.blogspot.com . Hier staat een kopie van deze mededeling.

Trouwens, als je het leuk vindt, kun je op de voornoemde blog mijn doen en laten volgen! Het gaat vooral over m'n inspanningen om bij de politie aan de bak te komen. Sinds ik last kreeg van m'n rechteroog ben ik er niet meer mee bezig geweest maar ik hoop er nu weer wat intensiever mee bezig te kunnen en ook andere dingen aan de orde te laten komen! Nou dit wordt al een heel epistel zo te zien dus ik zal er maar wat een einde aan gaan breien..

Nog een laatste ding, een afscheid is natuurlijk niet compleet zonder een inname van drank en THC Het is dan ook mijn intentie om een zogenaamd 'feestje' te geven. Of het een BreeK de WeeK of juist een weekendfeestje wordt weet ik nog niet. We moeten maar even zien wanneer de meeste mensen kunnen. Ik laat binnen een paar dagen meer horen!!

Nou mensen ik zal dit gaan posten en hoop nog heel veel van jullie te horen!!! Oja ik hoop jullie niet tegen te komen in mijn voorlopige, wellicht, toekomstige baan; als beveiliger bij de Dienst Justitiële Inrichtingen (aka cipier) hehe.

Yesterday was the last day I wore glassess....

Sweet!

So this morning I was allowed to take of the bandages and the eye cap. Ka ching, I'm already able to see 95% of what I was able to se with contacts. And I got the lens 18 hours ago so I'm still adjusting to it. Vision wil probably improve for anoher week! The only downside a this point I'am not able to focus to objects any closer than 30 - 40 cm from my eye. But what the hell I'm totally frecking happy with my sight so far. Really curious to as to how perfect it will get. I guess we'll know within a couple of weeks..

quick heads-up

So I'm going into surgery about three hours form now.

Today my right eye will be implanted with the artiflex lens. Next thursday it's the left eye. I'll try to keep track of my progress in the next few days/weeks via blogger.

It's been a month. I know, I'm sorry.

I've got this job where you work behind a computer screen seven hours a day. That doesn't realy motivate you to sit behind your own pc screen at home I guess.



But let's stop the bitching and let me tell you what I've been up to the last month.

First of all I've been working my ass of to make money for the eye-surgery next monday. Yes it's going to happen in a week! My first (the right) eye will be implanted with a Artiflex lens.

The second lens will be implanted next week's thursday. I just finished transferring the amount. It costs me 4100,- euro's. That's $ 5215,- . Hell that's a lot of money! I guess it's worth it.









Last saturday I went to the KMA ( Royal Military Academy ) for some info about officer training for the Koninklijke Marechaussee.

The captain I spoke to and me, both agreed that the regular police force is probably a better choice for me. Bit of a shame though I liked the military status of the KMar.

Let's get this thing on the road!

So: Who Am I ( no not Jackie Chan :p)?

My name is Arne I live in the Netherlands in the city of Leeuwarden. I'm 20 years three months and a couple of days old. I have just arrived at an important point in my life. What line of work to pick..

Over the past two years I have attended different educations. One of them being Law school. Nothing quite seemed to fit me. Most of the time I noticed I wasn't able to focus on the
subject material. And trust me that's not a good thing you're studying to become let's say.. a lawyer. I realized I needed some action. So after a lot of thinking I desides not to re-enrol this year.

I decided at that point that I was going to try get into the Ducth Police Academy. Something I have wanted to do since i graduated from High School. There's only one problem...

That would be my eyes

All of my body is in keen physical shape BUT my eyes are causing problems. Both of them are myopic at -5,5 diopters. To get into Police School/Academy -2,00 diopters is the max. Wich is fair I gues. There is no way I'm going to be shooting a gun in any way accuratly without glasses/contacts.. This means one thing if I'm going to be in the PD, I will have to undergo refractive surgery tot correct my myopia (nearsightedness)

Why have I started this Blog?

Well for one thing over the past couple of years I've been checking out a lot of blog some cop related some not. What I have noticed is that I've never seen a blog dedicated to becoming a cop. I realise this is not the most interesting part but non the less important. I started this blog to let the people around me know how i'm doing and what the progress I'm making is. Of course this blog may also be of significance to other people on the road 2 rookie. Most of all I started this blog for personal reasons, having something to do, record my progress etc. Not all of the blog will be about getting into police training, some of it will also be about my current line of work and other sideroads of the "Road2Rookie"
